Kaira Brown Commits to Vanderbilt University

State Champion sprinter Kaira Brown of Kent Place School has chosen Vanderbilt University to continue her education and athletics career. The New Jersey star was also looking at UNC - Chapel Hill, Georgetown University, University of Michigan, and the University of Pennsylvania. Brown and Bruce Berry, a personal coach the past two years, announced with us Sunday night that the decision had been made.

"Throughout the recruiting process, I've been focused on finding a place where I knew I would thrive academically and athletically." Brown stated, "At Vanderbilt, the academics and athletics were impressive, but what stood out to me was how much I enjoyed spending time with the team and the coaches."

Brown has two Meet of Champions titles on her belt in the 400m winning the 2018 indoor and outdoor titles. In 2017 as a sophomore she was third outdoor and fifth indoor. This goes along with multiple Group state titles and local championships in Union County. Her resume boasts PRs of 54.78 over 400m and 24.86 over 200m.
