Loudoun Valley's B Team Had A Day For The Ages

The real story from this weekend was Loudoun Valley's "B" team and how truly good they are. This weekend down in Cary they ran away with that Seeded Race team title. Their score of 52 points outpaced the other teams by more than 50 points.

This team comprised of Mateo Barreto, Taylor Ney, Alec Venable, Elliot Petersen, Jeremiah Mussmon, Christian Arellano, and Noah Peterson averaged a staggering 16:16 on the WakeMed course. That time would rank them VA #2 just behind their "A" lineup which averages a 15:56.

Leading the way for the team this weekend was Barreto who ran a big PR and broke 16 for the first time. He finished 4th overall in the Seeded race with a 15:57 time.

The team finish is impressive enough by itself but the 2K splits make it even more impressive considering the Vikings lengthened their lead on the back-half of the course. This team has likely not even shown its' fully strength.

Their "A" team also came away with a big victory this weekend, scoring 64 points to win the Race of Champions. Their team average was 15:27. The "B" Team's average would have placed them 7th in the ROC race.
