Full Results

On Saturday at the AAU National Club Championships Athing Mu of Trenton TC ran an incredible 52.45 to win the girls Age 15-16 division over 400m. Not only was that a meet record, taking down Symone Mason's 53.57, but the performance also moves the young star up to #2 all-time in New Jersey state high school history.

Mu squeaked in ahead of Olivia Baker's 52.46 from 2014 and is only behind Sydney McLaughlin's outdoor PR of 51.87. McLaughlin posted a national record time of 51.61 indoors at New Balance Nationals Indoor her senior year.

This was a huge drop in time for the young track star, in the semi-finals Mu posted a short lived PR of 53.70. Her best before that was a 54.12 which won her the Emerging Elite 400m at New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past June.

As usual Mu has had herself a busy but successful meet taking home three gold medals. After her record breaking win in the 200m on Saturday she posted a 2:07.21 to win the 15-16 year olds 800m, just off her own meet record of 2:07.18 from last year's AAU Championships. New Jersey's Leena Morant of Union Catholic finished second running 2:11.37 in that same race. On top of that Mu was listed on the Trenton Track Club's winning 1600m sprint medley which ran 4:03.65.

The excitement from NJ MileSplit contributor Jim Lambert's tweet is contagious.
