UCLA's Alyssa Wilson, the greatest thrower in New Jersey high school history, contiuned making history when she finished off an amazing throwing triple by winning the women's shot put at Sunday's USATF Junior National Championships at the Hayes Track at the Haugh Complex at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Danielle Notarfrancesco of UMass, who graduated from Jackson Liberty last year, placed 8th in the shot with a 44-4 1/2.

Wilson, who set the national indoor and outdoor high school records in the shot put as a senior at Donovan Catholic last year, won the shot put on Sunday with a throw of 55-1 1/2. She also won the hammer throw on Saturday with a 217-7, and placed second in the discus on Friday with a throw of 176-8.

With those finishes, Wilson became the first woman to ever qualify for the World Junior Championships in three individual events, a remarkable accomplishment.

The World Junior Championships will be held in Tampere, Finland from July 10-15.

Wilson is one of four former NJ high school stars who qualified for the World Championships.

Florida's Cory Poole (East Orange) won the 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles to qualify in both events. Poole is just the third man in meet history to win both hurdle races.

Georgetown's Rey Rivera (Old Bridge) was second in the men's 800, and Tennessee's Jordan West (Rahway) placed second in the men's shot put as they both punched their tickets to the World Juniors.
