Canal Winchester's Erica Babusci is headed to the University of Pittsburgh

Canal Winchester's Erica Babusci will compete for the Pittsburgh Panthers next year.

Congratulations to Canal Winchester's Erica Babusci on the news that she'll be continuing her track career at the University of Pittsburgh next year!

MileSplit Ohio learned about this development through Babusci's recent Twitter update:

Erica Babusci has competed in a number of events for Canal Winchester, but her key race is the 300m hurdles where she owns a PR of 43.49.  Babusci qualified for the 2016 OHSAA State Track and Field Championship in the 300m hurdles event and she had a strong junior season in the 400m, as she collected two race wins and set a new PR with a result of 1:00.80.

MileSplit Ohio reached out to Erica for her reaction to this opportunity:

"I will be training for the 400m hurdles and hopefully a few other events. I am super excited to go to Pitt; it is my dream school and I can't wait to attend there!  I am blessed to have this opportunity and I can't wait to see where Pitt takes me!"

Erica Babusci will aim to have a strong senior season on the track prior to departing for Pitt.
