Northern Highland's star twin duo Monica and Isabel Hebner ran the fastest two times of the meet on Saturday at the Shore Coaches Invitational. Monica won the Varsity D race running 18:32, 11th all-time among Bergen County athletes at this course, and Isabel second at 18:39.
Not only were those quick times by themselves but the Hebners out ran some stiff competition with 3200m Meet of Champions winner Alexa Westley of Warren Hills finishing third at 18:53. Placing all three as major contenders for this year's state title.
The team race in Varsity B went to Kingsway with 77 points over a head to head run against defending state champions Ridge at 81. Kingsway scored 7+11+16+18+25 led by senior Alexa Mullarkey finished seventh at 19:48. Their performance ended up second in the meet merge only behind NJ#1 ranked North Hunterdon, which pushed Kingsway up to #2 in the latest poll rankings. Lauren Krott 12th at 20:08, Kylie Anicic 17th 20:42, Allie Pierontoni 19th 20:43, and Ashlynne Burke 26th 21:12 finished out their top scoring five.
