Get your N.J. XC on!

Get your run on!

Get your Opening Day on!!! Sure feels good to type those words again!

I am all set up next to the finish line with Robert Kellert here at Freedom Park in Randolph for what is always one of the best meets of the year and the only meet in N.J. that runs under the lights.

NJMilesplit will be all over the course to provide the best possible coverage for you.

First race is at 6 p.m.. It's the JV boys Groups B and C that will kick things off here.

If you are new to how this works, the live updates will be down below and I will keep them as up to date as possible.

As usual, there's a great atmosphere here with music blaring from the snack shack which is hands down the best XC snack stand in N.J. The snack stand at Greystone is also high on the list, but nothing beats Freedom's snack shack for an XC meet.

There's an army of Randolph moms working the counter today, and they are moving at breakneck speed over there. And today your burgers and dogs are being grilled by the one and only Jim Loveys, the former Mayor of Randolph. Nice job with that spatula over there, Jim.

Lots of great talent running here today, including Alexa Westley of Warren Hills, Abby Loveys of Randolph, Ray Sellaro of North Hunterdon, and Ronald Kigen of St. Benedict's.

Westley won the 3,200 at the M of C last spring as a sophomore and was 4th at the XC M of C last fall. I chatted with her coaches before the meet and that told me she's fit and ready to rock.  Can she break 18:20??
