Alyssa Wilson Throws Another All-Group Record in the Shot Put

Alyssa Wilson of Donovan Catholic, the greatest shot putter is U.S. high school history, smashed her second All-Groups record in two days when she unloaded a bomb of 54-4 to win the girls shot put at the NJSIAA Non-Public A Championships on Saturday at Silver Eagle Stadium in Egg Harbor.

The UCLA-bound Wilson, who owns both the indoor and outdoor national high school records in the shot put, smashed the previous All-Groups meet record which she set at 53-8.5 last season.

It's the third straight Non-Public A state outdoor shot put title for Wilson, who finished her legendary career with seven outdoor Group Championships. Wilson won her fourth straight Non-Public A discus title on Friday with an All-Groups record of 176-6.

Wilson owns the U.S. high school outdoor record of 57-1 ¼, and her personal best in the shot came this past winter when she unloaded a national indoor record 57-5 ½. She is also US #1 this season in the discus with a N.J. state record 182-0.

Wilson will aim to break her own records at the Meet of Champions next Saturday at Northern Burlington.
