Last year's reigning champion Courteney Campbell of South Brunswick returns once again ranked as the top seed at 5-06. There was one other girl to clear that same height at Groups and it was freshman Tierra Hooker of Timber Creek.
Two other girls who also advanced and are tied with Campbell and Hooker for the state lead at 5-06, Meghan O'Malley of Randolph and Jessica Creedon of Ridge.

There is a battle waiting to happen at the pole vault pit. Five girls who have cleared 12 feet this season including the defending champion Leah Saifi of Governor Livingston will meet. Challenging her bid for the repeat will be Julia Dannenbaum of Pingry, Jessica Ippolito of Fair Lawn, Michelle Rubbinetti of North Valley Demarest, and Francesca Porambo of Bernards.

If you ever wanted the chance to see a national record this could be it. National leader and US#2 all-time Alyssa Wilson of Donovan Catholic has thrown 56-2.5 this season, 54-2.75 last weekend at Groups, and the national record of 56-7.5 is in sight.
There were two other girls over 46 feet at Groups, Danielle Notarfrancesco 46-11 NJ#2 US#6 and Najeaya Singleton of Vineland 46-1.5 NJ#3 US#10. New Jersey is very strong nationally in this event you should make your way over there to check out the action.
