Here are the results from a busy Wednesday in the Garden State.
Union County ChampionshipsChristopher Heckelman
of Summit and Nate Papachristos of Union Catholic went right to the line for first and second at 15:53. For the girls freshman Victoria Vanriele of Governor Livingston won with a time of 19:21. The team titles were swept by the Westfield boys and girls.Prep State Championships
Ronald Kigen won the Varsity A with a time of 16:13, the fastest performance of the meet. Prep B race was led by Bill Massey and Nick Wilson of Montclair Kimberley Academy in first and second at 16:42 and 16:54. They led their school to the team title, A was won by The Pingry School.
For the girls Prep A Jesse Brewer of The Lawrenceville School took the win with the fastest girls time at 19:06. Prep B was won individually by Villa Walsh Academy's Sophie Henderson at 19:15. Both of those athletes led their squads to victory in the team scoring.
Tri County Championships
Kingsway athletes won both the boys and girls individual titles. Joe Grandizio posted a 15:42 in the boys to win, Rachel Vick 18:02 for the girls. The boys team title went to Delsea with 33 points and an average of 16:11. Kingsway took the girls team championship with 31 points and an average of 19:00.
