That's right athletes you get to switch places with Coach for a moment this October! Announced Monday night the New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational will host an actual coaches race at this year's meet! The officially named Coaches Against Cancer event will take place at 12:05 PM and will run the full 5K course. Donations for the cause will be accepted at th meet.
Special awards to the winning coach, male and female, winning team (best three person average), and the most coach finishers from one school. The tie breaker for the most finishers award will be the team average.
To enter you must be Board of Ed approved at your school. Can be a head coach, assistant coach, volunteer, involved in other seasons, even other sports. Contact Rob DeFilippis at runnershigh454@aol.com if you would like to complete in the coaches event.
The meet is scheduled to take place at Holmdel Park on Saturday October 1st, 2016. NJ MileSplit will be on site to cover all the action with photos, interviews, live updates, and videos. The meet plans to hold six girls varsity and seven boys varsity races this year!
