There are now so many college commitments rolling in I'm trying to say something about most but I've had to start picking out those who have won a state title or have placed well in group meets. Thanks for the understanding and congratulations to everyone!
Craig Corti of Wallkill Valley has committed to Wake Forrest University! Corti has now made it to the XC Meet of Champions all four years of his high school career. He holds SIX state group championships and holds personal bests of 4:15 in the 1600m, 9:08 in the 3200m, and now a 15:40 best at Holmdel as he attempts to win the MOCs this weekend.
Lauren Zodl of Pinelands Regional has chosen the University of Delaware! She runs for Pinelands Regional while attending MATES. She has won back to back Ocean County Championships, back to back Sectional championships, and this Saturday's MOC will be her 7th straight meet of champions race between all the seasons!
Kerry Dyke of Mount St. Mary Academy has chosen Rutgers University! This star has made the Meet of Champions all four years of her high school cross country career. Her 11 major career wins include a Somerset County 1600m title and 4 Prep Championship titles between track and cross country.
Alana Herran of Union Catholic commits to the University of Virginia! Earning medals at the Group Championship level has become common place for this quick multi event athlete. She has a personal best of 25.32 in the 200m, 5-2 in the high jump, and 18-8.5 in the long jump.
Eve Glasergreen of North Hunterdon commits to Cornell University! This news may have been out for a while already as we weren't sure if it was official but the fastest girl at this past weekend's Group Championships has chosen Cornell. This past Saturday she set a huge personal best of 18:15 for Holmdel winner the Group 4 title, her second out of all the seasons. She also totes a personal best of 10:26 in the 3200m, which is what she won her outdoor state title with last spring.
Marc Rienas of Northern Valley Old Tappan chose Northeastern University! Marc has a state for the 800m running 1:58.14 during indoor and one during outdoor for the 1600m where he ran 4:15! His personal best in the 800m is 1:53 ran this past spring while placing second in his group meet.
Lauren Brzozowski of Ramapo has committed to Elon University! She has a state title in the 400m dash when she ran 55.34 to win Group 3 last spring! She also holds multiple Bergen County and Sectional titles.
Liz Lansing of Randolph has chosen Duke University! Another one that has been out for a while but we haven't had a chance to say anything until now. She's a multi-time state champion with personal bests of 4:45 in the 1600m and a Holmdel best of 18:14. She has unfortunately missed most of the season this year due to injury.
Alvin Abraham of Egg Harbor Twp has chosen Rider University! He has a state championship in the 400m when he ran his best of 48.63 to win Group 4 last spring.
