Mount Saint Dominic's XC program will be seeing even more new faces as three more transfers head to a new team and school. Former head coach Asim Kohli was released by the school as coach last winter as well despite a successful run and has been replaced by Michael Vigil.
Union Catholic will have Amari Onque-Shabazz (2016), Alana Herran (2015), and Chandi Piiru (2015) joining their talented squad this year.
Amari Onque Shabazz had a successful spring running a personal best of 57.41 in the 400m and placing 18th at MOCs. She also bring a 5K best of 18:39 ran during 2012's Essex County Championships. Alana Herran took second in the long jump (18-0) and 200m (26.07) during her spring Group meet as well as third in the 400m hurdles (62.97). Chandi Piiru ended last spring with a 7th place finish at her group meet with a 59.39.
Another top runner for MSDA Juliet Kohli (2016) also transferred to another school and now will compete for Montclair.
