Record Breaking Performances - Week 3

Thanks to a request by a proud coach we will be bringing back the Record Breaking articles series. These can range between national, state, county, meet, and school records! So to all coaches, when your team breaks a record please send it into rkellert@milesplit.com with any background information you can give. Solid background notes can include splits, how old the record was, a special story or circumstance, even a picture (that we have the rights to use). 

This article is aimed for records broken during week three of the 2014 Outdoor Season (April 14th-20th). So we may need to back track to add to the list below. However the future articles in this series will be posted on Mondays or Tuesdays so if you would like to send in the record performances the entry deadline will be Sunday nights! 

 

Sprint Medley Relay

April 19th

School Record - 3:34.32 - At the 9th Annual Raider Relays Princeton HS broke a 33 year old school record in the in the Sprint Medley Relay!! The relay squad of Joe Gray (400m), Brandon Yao (200m), Jeremy Cohen (200m), and Conor Donahue (800m) ran a New Balance qualifying time of 3:34.32 besting the previous school record of 3:34.7. Conor Donahue split a 1:55.8 during his 800m leg! This is also a NJ#9 performance! 

 

4x200 Meter Relay

April 17th

School Record - 1:29.76 - At the Woodbury Relays Rancocas Valley Boys ran a school record in the 4x200m placing first in the Division 4 standings that day! A NJ#6 performance the splits were:

Shaun Bradley 22.7
JeSean Foster 22.7
Devon Lewis 22.8
Sterling Pierce 21.8

Distance Medley Relay

April 12th

School Record - 12:55.08 - At the Husky Relays the Monmouth Regional girls broke a four year old school record in the DMR running a 12:55.08. The previous record set in 2010 was a time of 13:17. The young relay team's splits were:

Jr. Juliana Garruto (1200) 4:00
Soph. Mackenzie Todd (400) :59
Frosh Olivia Maxton (800) 2:28
Jr. Megan Lindstrom (1600) 5:28
